Eight Air Guitarists Go Through to the World Final

Altogether 20 Dark Horses battled over the last spots in the Air Guitar World Championships Final in Oulu, Northern Finland on Thursday 28 August. The highest scores were given to Japanese Keisuke ‘Keisuke The Ninja’ Nagatsuka who took over the first place with his Asian fury. The second best scores were given to Doug ‘The Thunder’ Stroock (US) and the third spot was taken over by Del-Kun Dave ”G. Tso Money” Chen (TW).

The honorary jury included Artistic Director of Oulu Music Video Festival, Otto Kylmälä, singer of the flamenco band Bajo Cero & producer of the Jojo - Oulu Dance Centre Anna Murtola and Neondad guitarist and esteemed Air Guitar model Jarkko Halunen, and two National Championships' organizers of the AGWC Network: Aline ”The Devil’s Niece” Westphal from Germany and Dan ”Björn Türoque” Crane from the United States.

Air Guitar World Champion Will Be Crowned on Friday

The four-day festival culminates in the World Final on Friday when the world’s best air guitarists battle over the victory at Rotuaari square. The Final is also streamed live online to the international audience starting at www.kaleva.fi/ilmakitara at 7.40 p.m.

In addition to the skilful finalists, the evening will be starred by Huutajat, a choir that scream instead of singing, Ukrainian-Russian Air Guitar Duet, Finnish pop band Ukkosmaine and the Rainbow Lockers dance group. The Final is hosted by the American Air Guitar Guru Dan ’Björn Türoque’ Crane. The stage will also be taken over by two former World Champions, Justin ‘Nordic Thunder’ Howard (US) and Aline ‘The Devil’s Niece’ Westphal (DE).
