The following year the location was the same, the jury was the same, even the prize was the same, but the grapevine had spoken. General interest increased and the news about the Air Guitar World Championships started to echo around the world: one of the competitors came from abroad and the event was covered in the news in Thailand. The Championship went to 10-year-old Ville Paakkari, who is still the youngest ever Air Guitar World Champion. The second place went to Jenni Pääskysaari, then a hostess at Kiss FM, who at the same time brought a welcome feminine aspect to the otherwise so masculine event.
