Three Continets, Four Champions

Last weekend was very busy air-wise, and now we have the pleasure to announce not one but four new national champions!

Switzerland was on the lookout for a new champion on 28 May. The national final turned out to be a real thriller, but an old friend of AGWC, the ever so imaginative Dirk Lüdi won the competition with new Wild West inspired alter ego “Dirty Airy”.

For exotic Brazil this was the second national air guitar championships. Eleven contestants rocked out in Goiania on 28 May when Alan Foster convinced the jury with his old school air guitarring and became the new Brazilian champion.

Finland made a comeback after a teeny break, and the national final was held in Helsinki on 29 May. Competition was stiff but Eero “Oulun oma poika” Ojala came out as the winner after he wowed the audience and jury with his airy skills. On that very same day Australia chose its national champion for the 9th time in Canberra. The new champion is a man with beautiful blonde locks, Cameron “Tommy Thundah” Bunney.

The National Champions will take part in Air Guitar World Championships in Oulu, Finland on 27 August. The 15th birthday of AGWC will be celebrated on 25-28 August. Welcome to the party of the year!
